The Young Tarentine is a marble statue made by French sculptor Alexander Schoenewerk. His subject for the sculpture was a poem by Andre Chenier. It tells the story of a young, suffering bride.  This scultpure was first exhibited in Luxembourg, before being moved to the Louvre and eventually to the Musee D'Orsay in Paris, France.

The sculpture collection, on the other hand, is located in the opposite Glyptothek and works created in Bavaria are on display in a separate museum. The park is located in Primorsky Krai of Russia, at the submountain part of the Sikhote-Alin Mountain Range. The rocky benches above the river, high skerries, small waterfalls, animal baths and trails, sanctuaries of local people, as well as settlement sites of ancient people deserve attention.

This head is one of many copies inspired by the face of the famous Doryphoros, or spear-bearer, made by the sculptor Polykleitos in the mid-5th Century BC. The discovery of numerous Roman copies in bath complexes, gymnasia and villas demonstrates that this sculpture type was often used for decorative purposes. The work dates to the second half of the 1st Century AD.

These extraordinary statues are the earliest large-scale representations of the human form. They were found as part of a cache of up to 25 statues buried in a pit under the floor of an abandoned house. All have naturalistically rendered heads and faces. The larger figures have realistically represented bodies, when the smaller ones are more schematised. Many are decorated with paint or shallow incisions to indicate hair, items of clothing, and to highlight facial features.
