Abstract— In modern organizations, data has become a critical asset; however, its value depends on how effectively it is transformed into meaningful insights. Enterprises today rely on a wide range of tools to process, analyze, and present data, often facing challenges in selecting the most appropriate platform for specific analytical and reporting needs. This study provides a structured comparative analysis of three widely used Microsoft tools: Excel, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Power BI. The comparison is based on key dimensions including data architecture, scalability, visualization capabilities, usability, governance, performance, and cost considerations. The findings indicate that Power BI is well suited for interactive and dynamic analytics, enabling self-service business intelligence across organizations. SSRS continues to play an important role in structured, pixel-perfect reporting environments, particularly where regulatory or operational consistency is required. Excel remains highly relevant for ad-hoc analysis, rapid modeling, and flexible data exploration. Overall, rather than identifying a single superior tool, this study highlights that each platform serves a distinct role within a modern business intelligence ecosystem.

Central Indian tribal communities face nutritional challenges due to rain-fed, single-cropping Kharif monoculture. In the Bastar Division, the indigenous Halba tribe of Kondagaon District experiences a seasonal resource crunch termed the ‘Lean Period’ during which households are socio-economically isolated from fresh perishables. This empirical study analyses the unwritten Indigenous Knowledge Systems utilised by the Halba community to achieve food sovereignty without modern refrigeration or synthetic stabilisers. Fieldwork was executed across four tribal settlements using purposive sampling to interview 120 key informants, paired with participant observation. The results establish that traditional preservation is a biochemical intervention aimed at reducing Water Activity, disrupting cellular breakdown, and degrading anti-nutritional factors. Botanically, practices range from dual thermal parboiling and solar cavitations of acrid tubers (Colocasia esculenta) into stable Khuila, to anaerobic, weevil-suffocating paddy storage inside straw rope Mair silos. In the ichthyo faunal domain, perishable biomass is transformed into durable Suksi variants through hypertonic dry salting of Mastacembelus armatus, vertical wood smoke phenolation of Esomus danricus, and chemical mortar compounding of Oecophylla smaragdina with wild tamarind to drop pH below 3.5. These zero-energy, zero-chemical methodologies offer climate-resilient blueprints for sustainable food packaging and off-grid security frameworks.

The EU textile industry is at a crucial turning point in terms of sustainable production and rapid adaptation to consumer demand for smart functions. The production of functional textiles often uses chemicals that cannot be recycled, which poses new challenges for the EU textile industry due to increasing regulations and strict bans on hazardous chemicals. Therefore, smart innovations are needed to help the textile industry eliminate the use of harmful chemicals and reduce its carbon footprint. BioFibreLoop will develop such innovations.
The paper presents the first results of the projects. It covers the specification, selection, development and production of textiles, the lignin-based coating, the development of appropriate digital tools, the safety and sustainability framework and finally some considerations on the industrial demonstration later in the project, before concluding with some information about the project.
