Region Connection Calculus (RCC) is important as a theoretical foundation of spatial reasoning in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), but it is not well-suited for modeling directed relations between regions due to the assumption that connection is reflexive and symmetric. In this work, a generalization over RCC is presented where the first-order logic connection primitive is substituted by a  relation called flow. Flow is used to define two sets of relations, both of which are found to be jointly-exhaustive and pairwise disjoint (JEPD), a key property of the set of basic RCC relations. It is also shown that when flow is assumedly reflexive and symmetric, relations from both sets collapse onto RCC relations, showing that the new relations generalize over the RCC relations.

Background and Aim of Study: Domestic violence constitutes a serious public health problem, manifesting itself through various forms of abuse, namely physical, psychological, sexual, and economic, affecting people of any age or gender.The aim of the study: to characterize violence in intimate relationships in a municipality in the Porto Metropolitan Area based on the sociodemographic profile of victims assisted by a specialized service, as well as on the characteristics of the violence, the perpetrators, and the criminal proceedings.Material and Methods: This quantitative, descriptive, and retrospective study based on the procedural analysis of 206 cases assisted by the Integrated Victim Support Service (SAIV) in a municipality in the Porto Metropolitan Area between 2022 and 2025. Sociodemographic variables, characteristics of the violence, and data regarding perpetrators and criminal proceedings were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics software (version 27).Results: The results showed that most victims are female (93.7%), with a mean age of 45.3 years. Violence in intimate relationships is predominantly ongoing (99.5%), with multiple forms of violence being predominant (78.2%), particularly physical and psychological violence. A high prevalence of psychological symptoms was also observed, namely anxiety (25.7%), depression (20.4%), and sleep disorders (15.5%). Perpetrators are predominantly male (93.2%), with an average age of 47.05 years, and a notable prevalence of illicit substance use (64.6%).Conclusions: The data obtained highlight the complexity and multidimensionality of violence in intimate relationships, as well as its significant impact on the mental health of victims, reinforcing the need for integrated and locally adapted responses.

The rising penetration of electric vehicles (EVs) into the grid presents both challenges and opportunities. To address this and promote advanced charging strategies, this study investigates the effects of various charging methods on transformers and their long-term economic impact on grid owners. The analysis includes uncontrolled charging, smart charging, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging strategies, with an aging model for transformers developed based on the IEEE C57.91 standard. The daily operational cost and annual cost have been analyzed using standard parameters, incorporating the Capital Recovery Factor (CRF). The results demonstrate the effectiveness of smart charging and V2G strategies in optimizing transformer loading and extending their lifecycle

This dataset contains molecular dynamics (MD) simulation data for the variable light-chain domain (VL) of AL55 and its complex with a full-length light-chain dimer (VL+FL). The starting structure for the apo VL system was prepared from the crystal structure of AL55 LC ( PDB ID 9FVK). The starting VL+FL complex was generated using AlphaFold3 with two copies of the full-length light-chain sequence and one copy of the VL sequence. MD simulations were performed using GROMACS 2025.4 with the Amber19SB force field and the TIP3P water model. Each system was simulated in three independent replicas of 1 μs each. The uploaded trajectories were saved every 100 ps. The dataset contains two compressed archives: AL_VL.tar.gz – simulations of the apo VL domain. AL_VLFL.tar.gz – simulations of the VL domain in complex with the full-length light-chain dimer. Each archive contains three independent replica directories: rep-1 rep-2 rep-3 The files provided for each system include: md.tpr – GROMACS production simulation input file. Trajectory file (.xtc) – MD trajectory saved every 100 ps. toppar/topol.top – topology and force-field parameter files required to describe the simulated system.
