Understanding the population dynamics of an evolutionary algorithm (EA) is very important. It helps us improve the algorithm as well as the optimization process. In this work, we analyzed the diversity of candidate solutions in the evolving population of grammatical evolution (GE). We employed a couple of different measures to gain insights into this. Our method is now integrated with GELAB. As you run GELAB, you can obtain results on diversity in real-time. Our results were published in a conference’s proceedings.
